Big Boi: teaching a lesson of integrity

The greatest thing about solo projects is that they show you how much the artist put into the band or group in which he initially took part. When you listen to Big Boi's Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty (2010), his first effort as a solo rapper, you can't but find -and enjoy of- a pleasant surprise. A lot of people, including me, blamed on Andre3000 of Outkast's genius. Nonetheless, Big Boi's opera prima displays how much of his talent was essential to one of the most remarkable hip-hop duos in history. Sir Lucious... delivers funky beats, ingenious lyrics, and a delightful sound. After fighting with his record label, which held the album for three years because of its "lack of commercial appeal", Big Boi has given an admirable lesson of artistry and has proven to the world -and me- how magnificent of an artist he is.
